Using Affirmations For Release

Affirmations are a great way to support release at any time but are especially powerful during a full moon.

Here’s my simple guide to using them

Firstly what are affirmations?

Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging or negative thoughts. When you repeat them often, and believe them, you can start to make positive changes taking action to make them a reality in your day to day life. For best results they are best written down, looked at and read repeatedly, often multiple times a day.

How can I use affirmations?

Using affirmations that allow you to release things you’ve been holding onto or telling yourself for a long period of time can help with letting go of the feeling of needing to stay safe and small. They can also support you when you let old emotions trigger responses that keep you stuck. Let go of the sabotages, especially where you self sabotage and let go of the noise in your head that always makes you choose what is old and familiar so that you can begin to grow, evolve and transform into the person you were born to be.

Here are some affirmations you can try. It’s always best to write your own affirmations if you can

I release all that is not mine

I release all obstacles to my authentic self

I release limited thinking and doubt

I release myself from procrastination and fear

I release attachment to outcome

I release those relationships, actions and beliefs that no longer align to my higher good

Amplify the results

Once you are familiar with the affirmations you are repeating you can quicken the change and amplify the results by stepping into the version of you who now believes this to be true.

For instance, take the affirmation “I release myself from procrastination and fear”

Repeat this affirmation

Think of a situation where you might ordinarily procrastinate and not take action on something.

Now visualise yourself reacting to the same situation and taking the action. Really feel into how this feels for you. Feel into the sensations this creates in your body.

Visualise the positive outcome of the action you take. Smile as you see yourself taking action.

Now visualise the person you would need to be to be taking this action – how do you walk, dress, talk, get out of bed in the morning. Gradually start to live as this person, continually repeating the affirmation and watch your life shift.
